Ashley has dedicated herself to giving back to the community. Since 1990, Ashley has committed to raising funds for and spreading awareness for breast cancer. In 2009 and 2010, Ashley has captained a Coldwell Banker Team for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Ashley and her team raised nearly $10,000 for the cause in 2009 and over $11,000 in 2010. The money she and her team raised is for the Rocky Mountain Region and is distributed to local clinics, treatment and screening centers as well as to services that support those battling breast cancer in Colorado. In addition to supporting the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, Ashley participates in the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Southeast Colorado. This event is held in the majestic Garden of the Gods Park here in Colorado Springs. Money raised during this event go towards breast cancer awareness and reseach in El Paso, Pueblo and Teller Counties. For more information: http://www.komencs.org
Ashley is a volunteer for Big Dogs Huge Paws, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming unwanted giant breed dogs that have been abused, negelcted, mistreated and/or abandoned. Ashley assists with home safety evaluations, educating the public about giant breeds and transporting dogs from foster care to their forever homes.
