For various reasons, we had a very short time frame to work in and needed to find and close on a home in 25 days. Prior to the house hunting trip, Mike emailed more listings and set up a schedule of ten homes for our first day. Being very practical people, my fiance and I were not willing to settle for a home without doing a lot of shopping first. Thanks to Mike's willingness to meet with us early and stay late to set up the next day's schedule, we saw thirty houses in three days! House #29 was the winner.
But hard work was just one aspect of why we felt beyond fortunate that Mike was on our side. Being an eco-broker and retired builder, Mike's advice was invaluable. It is very scary moving to a new state and having to commit to buying a home.
Our experience with Mike didn't end there, however. Since we live out of state, distance presented its own set of difficulties. Mike put us in touch with inspectors, landscapers, utility companies, etc. He was present at our inspection when we could not be. He met with the builders several times on our behalf. He even obtained information about the energy efficiency of our new home to help us get lower interest rates. And, he always followed up - on paperwork, on inspection items, and on time-lines. Not a day went by through the entire 25 day ordeal that my fiance and I didn't declare out loud, "Thank God we have Mike!"
