Areas of Expertise

I specialize in residential real estate sales in the Metro Denver area.  The highest number of my sales have been in the  Central and Southeast Denver, Southeast Aurora, and Centennial areas,  but I have sold homes south to  Castle Rock, north to Windsor,   east to Tollgate and west to KenCaryl.

I was born and raised in Denver, and have lived all of but 15 years of my life here. That gives me the confidence to not only advise my clients about the investment values of the Denver area's many diverse neighborhoods, but also to provide them with each communities' unique cultural and historical backgrounds.

My background as a newspaper and magazine editor, and also as an English and journalism teacher helps me read contracts closely for critical details, and gives me the confidence to write clear, concise, and well constructed contracts.  I know that sometimes the difference between an "and" and an "or" can make thousands of dollars difference to my clients.

I have also had a career in sales and marketing for several companies, including an international distributor.  I have prepared product catalogs,  written print and online advertising, and exceeded sales goals as a deparment manager.  So I understand the business world and how to best position my listings to sell quickly in the market.

Finally,  I have been a lifelong student of human nature, and I enjoy immensely the opportunity real estate gives me to get to know such a wonderful variety of people.  I get a great deal of satisfaction from helping them, while their unique forms of wisdom and life stories greatly enrich my own.

Business Philosophy

My business philosophy is very simple:  if I take good care of my clients, my business thrives.  I approach each sale or purchase of a home as if I were my client.  I first ask myself, "What would I want to know?" if I were getting ready to sell or buy that particular  home.  Then I ask  myself  "What services would I expect to make sure every possible avenue was followed to ensure a successful transaction?"  I do the research and update my training so I can provide the best possible counsel and support for my clients thoughout the process of buying or selling their home.  I want to make sure I can look them in the eye at the closing table and be able to say, "I did my very best for you.  I took good care of you!"

Community Involvement

I am a proud member of the Smoky Hill Rotary Club, which provides funding and volunteer support for a variety of Aurora community projects, including Habitat for Humanity, Gateway Battered Women's Shelter, the Comitis Center,  the Book Bag Program for Century Elementary School, college scholarships for Overland High School and Community College of Aurora students, and the Ronald McDonald House.  We also contribute to the Polio Plus program which immunizes thousands of children around the world, and several other international programs.

I have also served on several homeowners association boards, and in every PTA officer position there is. I was program chairman for the Junior Women's Club, and President of the Symphony Guild in Midland Texas.  I also served two terms as President of the Robert E. Lee High School Football Booster Club.

Personal Background

I am married to a great guy by the name of Dave Alred who is a retired Air Force officer, now working as a counselor for disabled veterans.  I am the proud mother of two sons, and step-mom to two daughters.  My older son, Chris, is a physical therapist in Littleton, New Hampshire, and he also works with his wife, Susan, for Peabody & Smith, the best real estate company in the White Mountains.  My younger son, K.C., lives in Florida, where he is an investment advisor with LPL Financial.  Some Denver Bronco fans may remember when he played center for the team from 1999-2003.   Dave's daughter, Melissa, is manager of the Denver Mattress Store in Fort Collins, and her husband, Jarod, is a policeman.  His other daughter, Jenny, works for Luca Technologies in Golden.

I grew up in Park Hill, and except for 15 hot and windy years in Texas, I have spent my life in Denver. I am blessed here with extended family and  many lifelong friends, some of whom go back to my kindergarten days.  In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, listening to music, and reading books----(the real kind with pages that you can turn, make notes on, and put exclamation points in the margins.)

Communities I Serve

I go where my clients need me in the entire Metro Denver area.
